Most of us grew up in the film age. Our favourite memories of our families were captured on film cameras and then printed, becoming part of our world and daily existence. Each time I hold one of these old and faded photographs, I feel grateful for the gift of imagery. In this sweet impermanent life, we have photographs that piece our stories together and remind us of our joys, grief, and lessons in life.
I'm in the work of imagery to help you capture the fullness of your life. I want to help you slow down and preserve what matters to you most right here and right now. I dream of capturing photos that will touch you and generations to follow. So, what do you want to remember 20 years from now?

we’re going to take photos, but what will it feel like?
My approach to sessions is intentional and relaxed. I don't expect you to show up and model for me, we will get to know each other and talk throughout our time to ease into a comfortable rhythm of posing you and letting beautiful moments unfold naturally. I will help you embrace the wild ride and create a space where all feelings are valid. You can sleep easy knowing that honest photography is my passion—I’ve got your back and I’ll be behind the lenses capturing the in-between. Don’t worry about having it all together, slow down and relish in these fleeting moments.

We’re going to be in your home, but we can also go to your backyard and your favourite park down the street—if it’s meaningful to you, I’m in.

Don’t dress up. Less formal looks lend themselves to more comfort + more authenticity for everyone to move, snuggle, run, and be themselves.

Honest photography means I count on kids to give me their natural selves. We’ll ease into it and it’s absolutely ok if they don’t follow everything that I say. Whatever happens, I’m there with you for the wild ride!

film photography: the process

We will chat via email or get on a zoom call to talk about your dreams for your session.

When I arrive we’ll probably have a chat to get to know you better and see how everyone is feeling. Once we start shooting, I’ll guide you in natural poses, giving you a few prompts to get you interacting with your loved ones and letting real magical moments happen.

I know you can't wait to see your photos, but we have to mail them out of the province to get developed and scanned into digital files. This may take up to 5 weeks. When I receive them, I’ll edit the photos and create a gallery that best tells your story. Check your email for a link to all the goodies!
